Job Description

1. ROLE MISSION

The Institutional Sales Manager/ Senior Associate plays a pivotal role in developing and managing VNDIRECT's portfolio of domestic and foreign institutional clients, including investment funds, asset management companies, insurance firms, banks, and global broker partners. This position serves as the bridge between clients and VNDIRECT's internal resources — Research, Corporate Access, Trading Desk, and Operations — to deliver high-quality services, generate sustainable revenue, and reinforce VNDIRECT's standing in the institutional client segment of Vietnam's capital markets.

2. SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES

2.1. Client Relationship Management & Business Development

  • Manage, maintain, and grow an assigned portfolio of institutional clients, including domestic investment funds, asset management companies, insurance firms, banks, and other financial institutions.
  • Proactively expand the client network, with particular focus on foreign institutional investors (long-only funds, hedge funds, sovereign wealth funds) and global broker partners.
  • Build and sustain trusted, long-term relationships with portfolio managers, analysts, traders, and investment decision-makers across client organizations.

2.2. Research & Investment Idea Delivery

  • Deliver VNDIRECT Research products — analyst reports, macro views, market strategy, and investment ideas — to clients in a timely, concise, and client-appropriate manner.
  • Provide daily market updates, sector developments, macro insights, and key corporate events to assigned clients.
  • Coordinate with the Research team and Corporate Access team to organize client-facing events including corporate days, site visits, non-deal roadshows, analyst calls, and investor conferences.

2.3. Revenue Generation & Trade Origination

  • Develop deep understanding of each client's investment mandate, trading style, and strategy to proactively identify and propose relevant trading opportunities, including block trades, negotiated deals, and primary market opportunities.
  • Work closely with the Trading Desk, Research, Corporate Finance, and other internal teams to execute trades efficiently and meet client requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients at VNDIRECT, ensuring all client requests are handled promptly and professionally.

3. CANDIDATE PROFILE

3.1. Experience & Expertise:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Banking, Economics, Accounting, or a related field. CFA, MBA, or other recognized international finance qualifications are strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in securities, asset management, investment banking, or in roles such as Institutional Sales, Sales Trading, Equity Research, or Relationship Management.
  • Securities Practicing Certificate issued by the State Securities Commission of Vietnam (SSC) is preferred.
  • Established network with investment funds, asset management firms, and institutional investors in Vietnam and the broader region.

3.2. Digital Competency & Adaptability (Digital & AI-Ready):

  • Proficient in MS Office, Bloomberg Terminal, Fiinpro and CRM tools.
  • Ability to leverage technology for client management, data analytics, and workflow optimization.
  • Ready to adopt new digital platforms and AI tools in the workplace.

3.3. Soft Skills:

  • Fluent English (listening, speaking, reading, writing) is mandatory. Additional proficiency in Korean, Chinese (Mandarin), or Japanese is a significant advantage.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills; proven ability to build and retain relationships with portfolio managers, traders, and senior client stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of Vietnam's capital markets, macroeconomic landscape, key sectors, and major listed companies.

3.4. Other Requirements:

  • Self-motivated, accountable, with strong integrity and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, market-driven environment and manage multiple priorities under pressure.
  • High professional ethics, information confidentiality, and full compliance with securities regulations.
