ROLE DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a Director of UX to create a way of working that makes VNDIRECT digital products for joy—removing the distractions, interruptions, and frustrations that get in the way. As the functional lead across all of our UX functions, you will oversee the experience design. You would be responsible for setting a high bar for these teams and supporting them to deliver it. You’d build a great team and keep them motivated, productive, and constantly growing. As a member of the product leadership team, you will work side by side with senior leaders of other digital product disciplines to oversee our digital product’s strategy, execution, and team health. You will need to provide strategic insight beyond your fields, champion how UX can weave into a larger strategy to achieve our goals, and work collaboratively to ensure the best outcomes for VNDIRECT as a whole.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

- Help shape and uphold the design culture, language, and practice of VNDIRECT digital products

- Hold high standards of quality and work with partner organizations and teams to design cohesive customer experiences

- Represent UX considerations in broader team strategy and operations and contribute to decisions on behalf of the entire team, including advocating for investments in UX quality

- Be dedicated to your team’s progress by investing in skill development, culture, and community

- Framing problems and solutions and helping to align your team on the path forward through a design led-lens.

- Collaborating with Product Management, Research, Product Analytics, Content Strategy, and other partners to identify customer-centered problems.

- Define problems & goals, map user flows, prototype interactions, and launch new products and services.

- Exploring a wide breadth of solutions and pushing the boundaries on what great solutions might look like.

- Designing polished interfaces, meaningful interactions, holistic experiences, and identifying and solving edge cases.

- Provide indirect leadership and mentorship for a team of Designers through the end-to-end interaction and visual design of products and services for VNDIRECT customers.

- Evangelizing and presenting learnings and best practices with other Designers across VNDIRECT.

- Be dedicated to your team’s progress by investing in skill development, culture, and community

Job Requirement

REQUIREMENTS 

- Bachelor or advanced degrees in design-related fields

- 7+ years of industry experience

- Extensive UX, UI, and IA experience. Broad-spectrum skillset across interaction design, UX research, UX writing

- Strong design craft (you must be able to lead your team to quality execution and coach on skill development)

- Comfortable in an ambiguous work environment.

- Demonstrated experience working on projects from discovery through shipping/iteration.

- Strong interaction design to execute great prototypes and ideas that will be coming out of the vision work

- Extensive experiences with game design or gamification techniques.

- Systems-thinker with the ability to think beyond the pixels

- Experience with making complex information, tools, and services easily digestible for your audience
